2. What time do ticket sales close?

Answer: This varies from region to region, and players are advised to check locally for ticket sale closure times.

3. How do I win a prize?

4. Can I play Lotto Max if I do not live in Canada?

Answer: Yes, players can enter online and take part in Lotto Max from anywhere in the world.

5. If I win, how long do I have to claim a prize?

6. How old do I have to be to buy a ticket?

Answer: Players must be 18 or over.

10. Is there a rollover limit or jackpot cap?

11. What is the biggest Lotto Max jackpot ever won?

Answer: The maximum jackpot of $70 million has been won several times. It first happened on January 7 2020, when Adlin Lewis from Brampton in Ontario grabbed the top prize after 11 consecutive rollovers.

12. Why do draw times vary so much?

Answer: If the Lotto Max jackpot is under $50 million there will just be one draw, and the winning numbers will be available shortly afterwards. However, if the MaxMillions prizes are in play, each $1 million prize has a separate draw, which means the process can take some time. Often this can mean the full set of numbers will not be available until Saturday morning.

13. What happens to MaxMillions prizes which are not won?

Answer: If MaxMillions prizes are not won, they will roll over to the following draw. If the jackpot for the following draw is below $50 million, the MaxMillions prize money from the previous draw will be added to the Lotto Max jackpot. However, if the jackpot is still in excess of $50 million they will remain as MaxMillions prizes and will add to the total number of prizes awarded that week.

How to Play

To play Lotto Max, you must choose a set of seven numbers between 1 and 50. You can either choose the numbers yourself, or opt for a Quick Pick to receive a selection of randomly generated numbers.

Once you have chosen your numbers, the ticket machine will automatically generate another two sets. This gives you a total of three sets of seven numbers, each with a chance of winning one of the prizes from the nine different categories.

Lotto Max has a minimum jackpot of $10 million and a jackpot cap of $70 million. However, when the jackpot reaches $50 million an extra game named MaxMillions comes into play, which sees players gain extra chances of winning a $1 million prize. MaxMillions prizes are won in exactly the same way as the Lotto Max jackpot – by matching seven of 50 numbers – and these extra prizes are generated by the surplus funds created by ticket sales for the Lotto Max draw. Prize Categories

There are nine different prize categories to play for in Lotto Max – be sure to check the full results of each game, including the Bonus Ball, so you don’t miss out on a prize. Matching the Bonus Ball helps you to win secondary prizes, but you must match all seven main numbers to win the jackpot.
