Distribution network and sales force

Loto-Québec’s sales force is made up of nearly 8,400 retailers, who each use a game terminal. The network is divided into 44 territories served by merchandising experts who meet with retailers on a regular basis to provide sales support.

Retailers depend on a team of telephone salespersons to order their lottery products. As lottery product specialists, telephone salespersons contact retailers to take scratch ticket orders and ensure that the products selected meet their needs. They also provide retailers with ad materials and sales supplies.

Retailers and employees take many online training courses to familiarize themselves with functionalities on terminal and to acquire the knowledge they need to sell lottery products. Furthermore, Loto-Québec’s sales training service offers a telephone help line and, in some cases, training sessions at the point of sale.

Loto-Québec also offers a Retailer Assistance service to answer lottery sales questions and inform retailers about Loto-Québec’s products and services as well as politics and procedures to follow in the sales operations.

Technology to better serve consumers

Fast and easy to use, the lottery terminal comes loaded with benefits!

The terminal has a large 15-inch screen for the retailer and a 19-inch digital display for customers. The screen is always active, displaying a variety of information for customers: lottery ticket validation results, Quick Play game on-screen animation, information about winners, and lottery advertising. The customer display is also used to broadcast Amber Alerts (America’s Missing: Broadcasting Emergency Response) to help the province’s police forces quickly get information from the public about missing children.

Self-Serve Ticket Verification

Each Loto-Québec point of sale is equipped with a self-serve ticket checker which customers can use to verify themselves whether their terminal-based and scratch tickets are winners or not.

Loto Express

Thanks to Loto Express, consumers can purchase Quick Picks of their terminal-based lottery tickets like Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max directly at the cash register when paying for their purchases. These terminals are available at most food retailers and drugstores.
