Here are Saturday’s winning numbers: 5, 8, 17, 27, 28 with the Powerball number 14 and the Power Play of 3X.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing is the first since Wednesday, when a ticket sold in Maryland allowed its owner to claim a $731.1 million prize.

That ticket was sold at Coney Market, a convenience store in Lonaconing, in Allegany County, according to The Associated Press. It marked the first Powerball jackpot win in more than four months, the AP reported.

Wednesday’s huge Powerball jackpot was followed Friday by a massive $1 billion Mega Millions prize.

That Mega Millions winning ticket was sold in Novi, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, according to the AP.

The winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased at a Kroger grocery store, the news outlet reported. It was the first Mega Millions winner since Sept. 15, when someone in Wisconsin bought a winning ticket.

Mega Millions and Powerball are both played in 45 states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Powerball also is offered in Puerto Rico.

The Powerball lottery jackpot for Saturday night is now an estimated $640 million after no one won Wednesday’s drawing.

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $640 million with a cash option of $478.7 million — making it the potentially the eighth largest in U.S. lottery history.

“The winning numbers were: 14, 20, 39, 65, 67. Powerball: 2. Power Play 3X.”

The Powerball jackpot hasn’t been won since Sept. 16, when someone who bought a ticket in Ballston Spa, New York, captured the $94.6 million top prize. Since then, 34 drawings have been held without a jackpot winner.

If someone wins the jackpot Saturday night it would be the fifth-biggest Powerball prize.

While no one hit Wednesday’s $556.7 million jackpot, 11 second-prize tickets worth at least $1 million apiece were sold across the country.

In New Jersey, five third-prize tickets were bought, each of which matched four numbers plus the Powerball. One — sold at Krauszer’s on Amwell Road in Hillsborough — was purchased with the Power Play option for an extra $1 and is worth $100,000. The remaining four are valued at $50,000 apiece.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 4, 19, 23, 25 and 49. The Power Ball drawn was 14 with a Power Play of 2X.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 of winning the third prize of at least $50,000.

Powerball is played on Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open by appointment only. You can still claim your winnings — provided they’re less than $599.50 — in person at any retailer.

The lottery is also accepting mailed claims, though officials warn payments might be temporarily delayed. Winners are advised to make copies of the claim form and the winning ticket for their records.
